Approaches of “Partnership for Open Society” Initiative Regarding COMPREHENSIVE AND EXTENDED PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT To Be Signed between the European Union and the Republic of Armenia

Based on both positive and negative experience of the civil society in establishing cooperation with international and national state institutes, its success and failures, “Partnership for Open Society” Initiative expects that the Civil Society Platform will not have a merely formal nature, but a real and substantial participation in the process of implementation of the Agreement.

Defense counsel insists that young men charged with theft were forced to provide self-confession testimony; the case is in court (video)

Karine GasparyanT. Grigoryan and Z. Naslyan were arrested and then detained on charges of committing a theft in July, 2017 and currently are kept at ‘Vanadzor’ penitentiary facilities. The charges are based on their self-confession testimonies which the accused later denied.

Conscription of a non-national of RA prevented

զինված ուժերAfter repeated inquiries by HCA Vanadzor, we got replies from H. Muradyan, RA Military Enlistment and Registration Officer, and then on October 10, 2017 from M. Hakobyan, Chief of the General Staff of RA Armed Forces, stating that H. P. was not subject to conscription and military registration in RA.
