Persons with mental health problems still face discrimination and social isolation

Persons with mental health problems are “imprisoned” at psychiatric hospitals and care facilities and lose their opportunity of self-realization and their own self. This is caused by both the current stigma and stereotypes, and the lack of necessary psychosocial support services and insufficient legislative regulations.

Court judgment on doctor Anahit Petrosyan charged with the death of 2 children took effect

imageThe court judgment on Anahit Petrosyan, Head of the Infectious Diseases Unit of Armavir Medical Center, charged with the death of young Karine Hovhannisyan and Erik Amirkhanyan, under which she was found guilty of committing an action under Article 130(2) /failure to fulfill or properly fulfill professional duties by medical care and service personnel, which caused through negligence the patient’s death/ of the RA Criminal Code and sentenced to 3 years of imprisonment and deprived of the right to practice professional activities for a term of 1 year and 6 months took effect.

Right to protection of personal data is violated

After the seizure of the RA Police patrol-guard service regiment premises with all its ammunition by ‘Sasna Tsrer’ group on July 17, 2016, the RA Police presented some of the group members also as “persons inclined to using drugs”. The other mass media also disseminated the same information and used the term “drug addict”.

Doctor charged with the death of 2 children continues pleading not guilty

On May 4, 2016, the General Jurisdiction Court of Armavir marz (region), presided by Vahe Khalatyan, resumed trial examination of the case of Anahit Petrosyan, Head of the Infectious Diseases Unit at Armavir Medical Center, charged with the death of young Karine Hovhannisyan and Erik Amirkhanyan.  

The interests of the successor to Karine Hovhannisyan are protected by attorney Ani Chatinyan, lawyer at HCA Vanadzor.

Court ruled to restore violated rights of Rustam Ghazaryan

dat4As already reported, on December 23, 2015, the General Jurisdiction Court of Avan and Nor-Nork Administrative Districts upheld the claim filed by Rustam Ghazaryan and his representative Tatevik Siradeghyan, HCA Vanadzor Yerevan Office lawyer against the Republican Narcological Center CJSC to cancel his registration with the Center as a drug user and remove all the relevant medical records.
