Vilnius (4 December 2011)—In order to address the inadequate response of states and international organizations to ongoing human rights violations in Europe and Eurasia, 35 leading civil society organizations today launched Civic Solidarity, a new international platform for cooperation.

 Party Activity at Educational Institutions resonates with Intimidation. Human rights activists, Artur Sakunts expressed this opinion in a conversation with 1in.am, in response to a question whether political parties have the right to conduct their activity at educational institutions.
 “Qualitative Revolution in Elections” – this is a very vague notion: elections are free, independent, and fair, or fabricated. Human rights activist, Artur Sakunts expressed this opinion in a conversation with 1in.am, when commenting on Mikayel Minasyan’s words that they will register a qualitative revolution at the upcoming elections in Armenia.
 As Armenia heads into parliamentary and presidential elections after the 2008 post-election crackdown that threw the country into an unprecedented human rights crisis, the government needs to recommit politically to the international human rights principles and embrace established democratic election standards.
 In reference to the aftermath of previous elections, Artur Sakunts, Head of Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly Vanadzor Office, revealed the main methods of election fraud during discussions on “Amendments to RA Electoral Code” initiated by the “Partnership for Open Society” Initiative.
 ”Partnership for Open Society” Initiative, which unites over 60 member organizations, held a discussion on “Amendments to RA Electoral Code: New Guarantees for Free and Fair Elections” with the participants of representatives from the National Assembly, international organizations, the civil society and the mass media.
