The Military prosecution of Azerbaijan confirmed the deed of arresting Vusal Garajaev, an Azeri soldier, who was returned to azerbaijan from Armenia. Azeri.press agency reports that a criminal case is roused against Garajaev.

Today at about 10:40 a.m. in the Berd military basis Armenian soldier Armen S. Malkhasyan (b. 1988) was shot in the head by an Azeri sniper. The soldier died while being taken to hospital.

Karabakh is Ready to Give back the Prisoner of War

According to the message of the Nagorno Karabakh State Commission on Missing Persons and Prisoners of War, Karabakh authorities are ready to hand over Eldaniz Beyali oghli Nuriyev to Azerbaijan, soldier of the Azerbaijani army. He came to the Karabakh side on December 31, 2006 in the part of Fizuli and was taken hostage by the soldiers of Karabakh army.

Yesterday Nagorno Karabakh OSCE monitoring mission hold an observation in Aghdam, at the line of contact of Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan armed forces. During the observation they did not register any cases of ceasefire violation.

Armenian army takes another Azeri private hostage

Private Eldaniz Nuriyev of the Azerbaijani army was taken hostage by the Armenian troops near Fizuli District on 31 December. The International Committee of the Red Cross [ICRC] has already been informed of the incident, the state commission for hostages and missing people told ANS TV.

In Chechnya , according to the prosecutor's office, 2700 criminal cases regarding enforced disappearances have been brought to courts during the first Chechen War. During the second war 1500 people went missing.


The Meetings of HCA Vanadzor with Youth


HCA Vanadzor continued to organize meetings with youth in Lori and Taush regions within the framework of the regional project “Trustbuilding.” On December 16th a meeting was organized in Ijevan and on December 26th in Vanadzor.

AZERI SERVICEMAN SURRENDERED

On December 24, Azeri armless serviceman Samid Mamedov (b. in 1987) approached one of the Ijevan military units and surrendered.
Mamedov claims that he made this step as he was constantly beaten and teased by his officers. Samid Mamedov has been serving for a year.

He Doesn’t Want to Return

According to the president of Nagorno Karabakh, Arkadi Ghukasyan, the soldier who crossed the Armenian-Azeri border on December 7th does not want to return to Azerbaijan. The previous day A. Ghukasyan told the journalists that the Azeri soldier had come to the Armenian side in a “very bad state.”

On December 18, at about 6:00 p.m., Ruben Tamrazyan (born in 1967), senior sergeant of Dilijan regiment, was killed by an Azeri sharpshooter.

MONITORING WAS CANCELLED BECAUSE OF AZERBAIJAN


On December 13, according to a previous agreement between the authorities of the two counties, the OSCE mission was to carry out monitoring in the contact line of the Karabakh and Azeri armed forcer, near Fizouli.
