On May 1, 2009 people are not able to go to Yerevan from Lori region. The mini-buses from Vanadzor to Yerevan and Spitak to Yerevan do not work.

The right of citizens to free movement for participating in the rally of March 1, 2009 was violated in Lori region

On February 20, 2008, at around 12:00, a van taking people to Yerevan to participate in Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s mass meeting was stopped on the freeway from Vanadzor to Yerevan about 10 km far from Vanadzor.

It was not easy for the representatives of the AAM Vanadzor office, as well as Levon Ter-Petrossian’s supporters, to arrive in Yerevan in order to participate in the gathering.

On 16 February at about 11 :30 a.m. in Tashir a road police car with 0293 state numbers stopped the bus with 41SS665 state number going to Yerevan from Tashir and carrying people to participate in Ter-Petrosyan’s gathering near the village Saratovka. When the citizens of the bus informed that they were going to Tashir with the observation mission, the police inspectors allowed them continue the traffic.

  In June 2007, Vanadzor citizen Robert Elizbaryan applied to HCA Vanadzor on a problem of his brother, Hovik Elizbaryan, who was coming back from Moscow to Armenia by overland transport. Hovik Elizbaryan had been arrested by the law enforcement bodies of Georgia and was blamed for trespassing the Russian-Georgian border.

On June 20, at about 12:00, Robert Elizbaryan, citizen of Vanadzor (address: Banaki str., blind-alley 1, h. 4) applied to human rights defenders stating that in the evening a Georgian lawyer called him and informed that Hovik Elizbaryan, his brother, citizen of Vanadzor, had been arrested by the law enforcement bodies of Georgia and that he was suspected in trespassing the border between Russia and Georgia.

Armenian frontier guards have detained three Azerbaijani residents of Tezekend village in Marneuli region of Georgian, officer of Azerbaijani Embassy in Georgia Elkhan Polukhov told APA.
