In the evening Rustaveli Avenue was still closed by the military units. The militaries were away in the morning. The previous night president Mikail Sahakashvili declared about holding the presidential elections on January 5th 2008. On November 7th, 2007 the coordinators of HCA South Caucasus network held a meeting in Tbilisi. During the meeting they assessed the situation of recent days in Georgia. The participants condemned the violence performed against the peaceful demonstrators and applied to the international society with the following text:
Today, on November 7th 2007, at about 12:30, the employees from different units of police station started to make the demonstrators leave the territory near the Parliament on Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi. They dispersed the demonstrators with water cannons and tear gas (according to some sources also with other types of gas). Rubber bullets were also used to disperse the peaceful demonstrators.
