A working discussion took place in the Ministry of Justice between representatives of state bodies and the public sector on improving the procurement process.
The discussion referred to the issues proposed for consideration at the upcoming session of the Anti-Corruption Policy Council by the "Union of Informed Citizens" NGO and the Helsinki Citizens' Assembly Vanadzor.
Specifically, the discussion focused on the potential introduction of operatives, investigators, prosecutors, and judges specialized in investigating corruption crimes in the procurement sector. Other topics included the publication of decisions to close criminal cases in the procurement sector due to lack of crime, issues aimed at improving the effectiveness of investigating corruption crimes in procurement, and the directions for the development of procurement legislation.
At the same time, reference was also made to the report on the results of the investigation of the police procurement process carried out by the Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly Vanadzor.
As a result of the discussion, an agreement was reached to continue working discussions, observing the raised issues in the framework of the development of new procurement legislation, to conduct continuous trainings for law enforcement bodies, etc.
Daniel Ionnisyan, head of the "Union of Informed Citizens" NGO, Artur Sakunts, head of the Citizens’ Assembly Vanadzor, representatives from the Ministries of Justice, Finance and Internal Affairs, the Prosecutor General's Office, anti-corruption and investigative committees were present at the discussion.
