Dear citizens,

 

On social networks and in mediated ways, alerts are received that with the threat of dismissal, citizens are forced to participate in strikes and protest actions of opposition parties in Yerevan and other places in the RA.

 

Condemning such infringement of citizens’ rights and freedoms, we want to remind that termination of employment on the grounds of participation or non-participation in rallies or strikes is completely unlawful and you have an opportunity to be protected.

At the same time, we remind that according to Article 163 part 2 of the Criminal Code, forcing to participate in rallies with violence or threat of violence is punished with a fine in the amount of 500 to 1000 minimal salaries, or with arrest for the term of up to 2 months, or with imprisonment for the term of up to 3 years.

 

While, according to Article 155 of the Criminal Code, forced participation in a strike or forced hindrance to the participation in a legal strike by means of violence or threat of violence is punished with a fine in the amount of 200 to 400, or with arrest for the term of up to 2 months.
