Physical and psychological violence against citizens in Police departments, cases and manifestations of degrading treatment, as well as disproportionate restrictions of human rights and freedoms have not only not been eliminated, but continue to grow, while Police officers who have committed such illegalities and violated human rights remain unpunished.

Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly-Vanadzor has been strictly condemning such workstyle of the RA Police towards citizens and calls on law enforcement to initiate measures exclusively in a manner and on grounds established by law, respecting human rights, freedoms and dignity, and manifesting a human treatment.

At the same time, we hereby express our willingness to provide legal support to victims of illegal activities of the RA police officers, once again stressing that a person’s physical and psychological inviolability and dignity are inalienable values and should be protected in the democratic Republic of Armenia that has adopted legal values.

Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly-Vanadzor hereby declares that citizens subjected to violence by police officers in police departments can apply to HCA Vanadzor to get free legal aid.
