Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly-Vanadzor

On November 2, 2018, HCA Vanadzor applied to Artur Davtyan -RA General Prosecutor- with the question of checking the lawfulness of financial and property resources acquisition of the Republican Party of Armenia.   

HCA Vanadzor invoked the declarations presented during the latest parliamentary elections by the Republican Party of Armenia – who had been a ruling party for 20 years – which made it clear that the RPA had thrice as many financial and property resources as all the other acting parties of the RA together.

Moreover, according to 2017 report of the RPA financial and property means sources and expenditure, the property belonging to the party is distributed in all the regions of the Republic of Armenia, including regional centers and Yerevan city.

Taking these facts into consideration, HCA Vanadzor applied to the RA General Prosecutor to examine the lawfulness acquisition of property resources and formation of financial resources of the RPA.

There has been no response from the Prosecutor General’s Office yet.
