Within the framework of ‘Civil Society in Elections and Monitoring Processes in Armenia: Elections for All’ project, ‘Independent Observer’ Public Alliance has already started the training of short-term observers for observing the snap elections of the RA NA on December 9, 2018.
During the period of November 14-21, 2018, 84 long-term observers were also trained and have already started their work on the whole territory of the Republic of Armenia.
‘Civil Society in Elections and Monitoring Processes in Armenia: Elections for All’ project is implemented by OxYGen foundation and Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly Vanadzor in partnership with the Coalition for Inclusive Legal Reform, ‘Investigative Journalists’ NGO, ‘Region’ research center and Yerevan School of Political Studies. The project is funded by the European Union.
The trainings of short-term observers commenced on November 15 and will finish a week before the elections, on December 2.
During the trainings, the participants familiarize with the observers’ rights and obligations, cooperation with other participants of the project, the work to be done on the day of voting.
During the 4 two-day trainings that have already taken place, the observers discussed incomprehensible issues and reinforced the knowledge gained through role play.
